The ‘American Idol’ and ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ producer has also gone a little bit country by opening a new office for his Legacy Productions in Nashville.

American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance producer Simon Lythgoe has signed with Buchwald. The new representation follows Lythgoe’s Legacy Productions opening a new office in Nashville in early January. Lythgoe opened the new headquarters in the heart of country music to continue an expansion into multi-platform storytelling.

Lythgoe, Brown and Schnur — along with Ruben Studdard, American Idol winner and producer, and Philip Peters, TobyMac’s manager — were featured panelists at the workshop.

“The truth is, commercial music is an evolving industry,” Lythgoe shared. “Technology is driving it so fast, so quickly, you’ve got to keep your eyes open and utilize social media — you’ve got to be careful with social media, but you have to use social media to promote your music.”

Under the pact, the “American Idol” and “So You Think You Can Dance” producer will create, develop and produce unscripted programming through his company, Legacy Productions, co-producing with T Group Prods.
